Serving Jacksonville, South Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Orange Park, CR-210, St. Johns and St. Augustine. What We Do CrossFit HARDNOX is an officially licensed CrossFit affiliate, not a health club or globo-gym.  We do not pride ourselves on taking your money and hoping you never show up...we want you here!  We take pride in creating the proper environment and culture to help you get stronger, leaner, faster, and healthier than you have ever been.  We want you to get results.  Real, lasting resulting. Our coaches using the CrossFit methodology will train you for better athleticism using functional movement developing your capacity to move large loads long distances quickly.  Rather than training specific muscles or traditional cardio, you will first learn the correct  mechanics of our most FUNdamental movements - the proper technique for optimal performance is vital.  From there we are looking for you to properly perform those movements consistently.  In time, we will up the intensity and load.  Regardless of your current fitness level, this broad-general and inclusive platform will elevate your fitness, strength and power - you will see results! If you are looking for big fancy machines, shiny pink 2 lb. dumbbells, Jacuzzi tubs, steam rooms, classes choreographed to music and "trainers" walking around with a clip board and popped collar - THIS ISN'T THE FACILITY FOR YOU! However if you are willing to bust your butt, then there is hope.  CrossFit is not easy and we don't claim it to be.  It is work.  Hard work!  And it requires perseverence, determination, tenacity and consistency.  CrossFit will push you beyond the capabilities you think are possible.  We do not promise and short cuts, magic potions, super pills or quick fixes.    If you want it, you will have to earn it.  Our friends from Again Faster say it well:
The overall program is simplistic in design yet optimizes physical competence in each one of the ten recognized fitness domains; Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy.  CrossFit founder Greg Glassman sums it up like this: World Class Fitness in 100 Words: Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, Clean, Presses, C&J, and Snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports - Greg Glassman
